The Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) is the operational arm of the Directorate of Engagement, Research and Innovation, responsible for advancing the Institute’s research agenda, promoting scholarly output, and supporting the development of innovative technologies and solutions. The Center serves as a hub for academic research, applied studies, and collaborative projects across various disciplines in computing, technology, and management sciences.

Key Functions of The Center for Research and Innovation

  • Coordinate and monitor all research projects and programs undertaken by staff and students.
  • Provide support for proposal writing, research funding applications, and project management.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary research and partnerships with local and international institutions.
  • Promote innovation through prototype development, scientific publications, and technology transfer.
  • Manage institutional research laboratories, repositories, and data systems.
  • Conduct training and mentorship programs in research methods, innovation, and intellectual property management.
  • Publish institutional research outputs and organize conferences, symposia, and research expos.

Leadership and Reporting

The CRI is headed by the Assistant Director, Center for Research and Innovation, who reports to the Director of Engagement, Research and Innovation. The Assistant Director ensures smooth implementation of the research agenda, manages the Center’s resources, and coordinates with academic departments to promote a vibrant research and innovation culture.
