The institute is in the process of constructing hostels for students’ accommodation. Thus, it does not currently offer students’ accommodation facilities.
We encourage our students to source accommodation outside the institute. This can be in form of individual rental rooms or private hostels around campus.
To better help our students who originate from far distances, the institute has accessed suitability for some of the private hostels around campus.
Consequently, we have a list of private hostels to recommend our students to. As such, any student finding challenges with getting safe accommodation may visit the office of the Dean of Students for assistance.
The San Institute is an equal opportunities institute. We promote healthy competition among service providers as a way of enhancing the quality of service.
Thus, we encourage private hostel owners with decent accommodation suitable for our students to introduce them to the office of the Dean of Students. We shall have these hostels assessed for recommendation to our students.
Since these hostels are privately owned, the institution does not collect accommodation fees. The students pay the fees for rent directly to the hostel landlords/landladies.
The agreement is also between the students and their respective landlords/landladies. This means the institute is not directly accountable as to the standards of the hostel that a student chooses to live in.
Nonetheless, if a student chooses from hostels of our recommendation, we expect them to receive good standard accommodation. This is because we first assess suitability and standards before recommending these hostels to our students.
We encourage students to always make personal judgement. They should always ensure they are comfortable with a private hostel before committing themselves to payment. After all, there are a number of hostels to choose from.
We also urge students to always notify the institute in case the standards at a hostel drop below the minimum. This will enable us to do a re-assessment and remove it from the list to recommend to new entrants if confirmed no longer suitable.
