San Institute of Computing, Management and Information Science invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and motivated individuals to fill the position of Academic Registrar.

Job Purpose

The Academic Registrar shall be responsible for the administration, coordination, and management of academic affairs of the Institute. The Academic Registrar will oversee student admissions, registration, examinations, academic records, curriculum implementation, and quality assurance processes while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage student admissions, enrolment, registration, and graduation processes.
  • Maintain accurate and secure student academic records and databases.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise examinations, assessment processes, and the release of results.
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance of academic policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Coordinate curriculum development, review, and accreditation activities.
  • Prepare academic calendars, timetables, and examination schedules.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students and staff on academic matters.
  • Monitor student progression, retention, and completion rates.
  • Prepare and submit academic reports, statistics, and institutional returns as required.
  • Coordinate quality assurance and academic standards activities within the Institute.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, professional organizations, and other stakeholders on academic matters.
  • Serve as Secretary to academic committees and maintain records of academic proceedings.
  • Supervise staff within the Academic Registry and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in institutional planning, policy development, and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Information Management, Records Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Administration and Management, Higher Education Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Training in academic administration, records management, quality assurance, or higher education management will be an added advantage.

Experience and Competencies

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in academic administration, education management, registry services, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of academic administration processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of student information systems and academic records management.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant ICT tools.
