San Institute of Computing, Management and Information Science invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and motivated individuals to fill the position of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Tutor.
Job Purpose
The ICT Tutor will plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in Information and Communication Technology-related courses, facilitate practical learning experiences, assess student performance, and contribute to the academic growth and development of the Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and assessments in ICT-related disciplines.
- Teach courses such as Computer Fundamentals, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Networking, Database Systems, Cybersecurity, Web Development, Programming, and related subjects.
- Develop and administer assignments, tests, examinations, and practical assessments.
- Guide and mentor students in academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum development and review activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit reports as required.
- Support research, innovation, and community engagement activities.
- Supervise student projects and internships where applicable.
- Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and activities.
- Ensure proper utilisation and care of ICT laboratory equipment and resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, or related certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies
- Previous teaching or training experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of modern ICT concepts and technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct both theoretical and practical training.
- Strong interpersonal and student mentorship skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to academic excellence.
