San Institute of Computing, Management and Information Science invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and motivated individuals to fill the position of Tutor – Entrepreneurship Skills.
Job Purpose
The Entrepreneurship Skills Tutor will plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in entrepreneurship and business-related courses, equip students with entrepreneurial knowledge and practical skills, assess student performance, and contribute to the academic growth and development of the Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, and assessments in Entrepreneurship Skills and related subjects.
- Teach courses such as Entrepreneurship Skills, Small Business Management, Business Planning, Innovation and Creativity, Enterprise Development, Financial Literacy, Marketing Fundamentals, and related subjects.
- Develop and administer assignments, tests, examinations, projects, and other assessments.
- Guide and mentor students in business idea generation, business planning, and enterprise development.
- Facilitate practical learning activities, including business simulations, case studies, and entrepreneurship projects.
- Support students in developing entrepreneurial, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Participate in curriculum development and review activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit reports as required.
- Support research, innovation, and community engagement activities.
- Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and activities.
- Foster linkages with industry, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to enhance student learning experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Commerce, Business Studies, Economics, Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or Teaching Methodology is an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies
- Previous teaching, training, business development, or entrepreneurship experience is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of entrepreneurship principles, enterprise development, and business management practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and innovative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and student mentorship skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to academic excellence.
