San Institute of Computing, Management and Information Science invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and motivated individuals to fill the position of Tutor – Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Job Purpose
The ICT Tutor will plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in Information and Communication Technology-related courses, facilitate practical learning experiences, assess student performance, and contribute to the academic growth and development of the Institute.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials.
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and assessments in ICT-related disciplines.
- Teach courses such as Computer Fundamentals, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Networking, Database Systems, Cybersecurity, Web Development, Programming, and related subjects.
- Develop and administer assignments, tests, examinations, and practical assessments.
- Guide and mentor students in academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum development and review activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit reports as required.
- Support research, innovation, and community engagement activities.
- Supervise student projects and internships where applicable.
- Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and activities.
- Ensure proper utilization and care of ICT laboratory equipment and resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or Teaching Methodology is an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, Oracle, or related certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies
- Previous teaching or training experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of modern ICT concepts and technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct both theoretical and practical training.
- Strong interpersonal and student mentorship skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to academic excellence.
